Job Title: Quality Technician (Level I)                                                         

Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Reports to: Quality Manager     

Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday – Thursday 4:30pm – 3am)

SUMMARY

The Level I Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring quality production is produced in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. Test and inspect products at different stages during the production process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

  • Follow quality processes and procedures for inspecting and auditing production.
  • Familiar with all measurement tools used in the quality department.
  • Communicate effectively with production and quality team.
  • Efficiently read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong ability to correctly perform simple and complex mathematical scenarios.
  • Able and willing to routinely lift and carry up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Improve and maintain housekeeping in quality dept. – 5S Audits.
  • Keep product flowing through quality – nothing sitting around.
  • Assist in sustaining quality goals and objectives.
  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Willing to promote and stand by the company’s purpose statement and core values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience dealing with team members of all levels.

Job Title: Programmer                                                           

Classification: Salary/Exempt

Reports to: Manufacturing Engineer Manager               

SUMMARY

The CNC Programmer works with computer software’s to develop programs which will cut raw sheets of metal into specific parts. The CNC Programmer may be asked multiple times to adjust programs until the resulting product meets the customer specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

  • Use proper forms and best practices for designing programs.
  • Stay up to date with all new software and software updates.
  • Using time management skills to quickly and correctly program work orders for operators.
  • Responsible for interpreting blueprints.
  • Efficiently communicate with operators when programs are changed or updated.
  • Ensure all programs are documented correctly when changes are made.
  • Understand our manufacturing processes from start to finish.
  • Willing to promote and stand by the company’s purpose statement and core values.

Secondary Functions

  • Participate in special projects when requested.
  • Foster favorable working relationships with project managers and manufacturing personnel.
  • Available to help operators on 2nd or weekend shifts when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong background in fabrication and programming.
  • Excellent working knowledge of spreadsheets, SolidWorks, CAD, and manufacturing software.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment required.

Job Title: CNC Operator

Classification: Hourly/nonexempt

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor                         

 

SUMMARY

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and properly operating CNC lasers, punches, and Press Brakes.

 

Primary Functions

  • Operating Trumpf CNC lasers, punches, and Press Brakes.
  • Familiar with reading blueprints.
  • Able to follow a schedule.
  • Inspecting and troubleshooting CNC equipment.
  • Comfortable with using measuring instruments (calipers, measuring tapes, gauges).
  • Helping unload parts out of the CNC lasers and punches once parts are cut.
  • Familiar with automation.
  • Occasional forklift operations.
  • Able to stand 10-12 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain acceptable productivity.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive, healthy culture.
  • Able to communicate efficiently.
  • Comfortable following verbal and written directions.

Job Title: Material Handler

Classification: Hourly/nonexempt

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor                         

 

SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the functions and operations of the manufacturing team by providing material and meeting the transportation needs of each department.

Primary Functions

  • Unloads raw material from storage areas and loads material into different machines.
  • Moves pallets of parts and raw material throughout the production floor.
  • Ability to maintain and follow production schedules.
  • Assists with housekeeping initiatives.
  • Complies with all Sargent Metal and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Able to stand 10-12 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Assists the production team in maintaining acceptable productivity.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive, healthy culture.
  • Able to communicate efficiently and follow written and verbal directions.

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with electric and propane forklifts.
  • Must have 1-2 years of forklift experience.
  • Must be able to pass a Sargent Metal forklift test.

Job Title: Customer Service Representative                      

Classification: Salary/Exempt

Reports to: Production Control Manager                    

SUMMARY

The Customer Service Representative provides exceptional customer service to our customers while adhering to Sargent Metals policies and procedures. This individual will need to be very attentive when listening to customer service issues, and then offer unique and innovative solutions to each problem.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

  • Interact with customers via inbound telephone calls and emails to provide information and assistance.
  • Answer and offer solutions to customer concerns regarding product problems, billing issues, service questions and other general customer concerns.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers and establish a positive rapport with every customer.
  • Process transactions and promptly reply to inquiries about products and services.
  • Use the computer system to track, gather information, and/or troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Refer unresolved customer issues to supervisor for resolution.
  • Thoroughly and efficiently gather customer information.
  • Available to travel to visit customers if needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Willing to promote and stand by the company’s purpose statement and core values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical degree and/or experience preferred.
  • Minimum two years customer service-related
  • Experience dealing with team members of all levels.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments a plus.

Job Title: Project Engineer                                                 

Classification: Salary/Exempt

Reports to: Engineering Manager

SUMMARY

Review, analyze and make recommendations for product development and manufacturing process efficiencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

  • Follow new products through the entire production process to ensure products are made correctly, and quoted correctly.
  • Coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Work closely with Sales, quality assurance, and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.
  • Ensures processes used for the realization of products are safe and efficient.
  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing projects according to specifications.
  • Understand our manufacturing processes from start to finish.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • Must hold Six Sigma Green Belt.  The position is based in Anderson, South Carolina.

The Assembly Tech is responsible for building and assembling parts and components for various customers according to blueprints, customer specs, and work orders.

Primary Functions

  • Operating power tools and hand tools to assemble parts.
  • Able to stand 10-12 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Maintain acceptable productivity, attendance, and quality while following processes and procedures.

  • Comfortable working in a team environment and individually.
  • Able to efficiently communicate and understand direction both written and verbal.

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor

SUMMARY

Our Entry Level Manufacturing positions are a great way to dip your toe into the water of the manufacturing world. These positions could consist of many different operations including simple assembly, paint line operations, and unloading material from lasers. These positions require much flexibility and attention to detail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

  • Simple understanding of how to operate generic hand tools.
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain good productivity while producing products to quality standards.

  • Able to communicate efficiently.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
