When assessing an operation in a manufacturing environment, the relevance of the operation is dependent upon its effectiveness in achieving the overall goal. CNC Punching is critical in the effort to achieve cost-solution goals for the customer. To address this necessity, Sargent Metal’s punching operation is intergraded into both a totally automated system and flexible manufacturing cells. Both systems, Trumpf and Amatta, are performance driven.
Trumpf Punching Machines
We offer the latest in Trumpf Automated Punching Technology. From the TC2020R, to the TC500 and the robust TruPunch 5000, our punching capacity and quality is second to none! The TruPunch 5000 is an automated hydraulic 25-ton punching machine with a 5-foot X 10-foot punching area. By connecting the machine to the STOPA material handling system, Sargent Metal has the capability to store parts or offload them to a secondary operation.
The Trumpf TC500 is an automated hydraulic 25-ton punching machine with a 5-foot X 10-foot punching area. By connecting the machine to the ASR, Sargent Metal has the capability to store parts or offload them to a secondary operation.
The Trumpf Tru Punch 5000 is connected with the ASR; metal blanks are delivered, punched and robotically staged for the next operation. If the next step involves forming, the parts are sequenced via programming software and delivered to an assigned pedestal/press brake. The operator processes the needed parts for the next operation. All operations are scheduled electronically and prioritized.
Sargent Metal also employs cellular manufacturing techniques. Several punches are set up within an individual cell; the cells are fully-automated and autonomous to the ASR. Material is loaded through an automated system unique to that individual CNC punch, processed (punched) and unloaded back into the same automated load system. Parts are then placed on a pallet and transferred via forklift to the next operation. Sargent Metal is confident this excellent system will lead the company to achieve its performance goals.
Amada Punching Machines
The Vipros 368 King with the MP1530 Load/Unload is an automated high-speed punching machine. Sargent Metal has one Vipros 368 King punching cells and a Vipros 255 stand-alone turret for additional punching processes.

About Us
Sargent Metal has undertaken a major initiative that will enable us to reach our aggressive goals. We moved into our 79,000 square foot manufacturing facility in June of 2003. Our 21 acre campus is located in Anderson, SC.
