Company History
J.D. Sargent and his son, Donnie, established Sargent Metal Fabricators in 1975. They outfitted their small facility with select machines and set out to create one of the best fabricators in the Southeast.
Donnie instilled this same goal in his son, Tim., who began working at the shop at the age of 14. Tim worked throughout high school and college; after graduation from college he transitioned easily into a full-time position. He serves the company now as President & CEO.
Tim’s long-term experience with the company has honed his understanding of customers’ needs, and he has assisted his father in the development of the company’s production and quality. The goal set forth by J.D. and Donnie in 1975 to be one of the best fabricators in the Southeast has led to a major three-phase initiative. Sargent Metal completed Phase 1 in 2003 with the construction of an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on the company’s 21-acre site at the Airport Industrial Park in Anderson, S.C. We have an additional 33,000 square feet of warehouse space about two miles from the main plant. We anticipate the need for further expansion.
